UpCycle or ReCycle Clothing
Many people today are more eco-conscious about the massive level of clothing going to landfill. Therefore altering, repairing and repurposing redundant and used clothing can reduce waste and increase our sustainability
About us
Hunter Adults Financial Collaborative Inc. was established to develop a pathway to employment for adults in our community who are long-term unemployed. This project focuses on unemployed and isolated Refugee Women. They are passionate about sewing, and many have extensive experience in their own country and are excited about using their skills to provide a service to the local community while simultaneously being in some form of employment for the first time in Australia. We have conducted training sponsored by corporate to raise their skills to the necessary level of service that meets the most challenging Alterations and Repair the customer requires. We aim to have twelve people in our established sewing cluster once it is fully established to provide a flexible, affordable service covering all customers’ alterations and repair needs across the Hunter region of NSW.
